Address: 333 Songze Avenue, Shanghai, China
What is CIIE?
The China International Import Expo (CIIE) is the world's first national-level expo themed on imports. It is co-hosted by the Ministry of Commerce and the Shanghai Municipal People's Government, and organized by the China International Import Expo Bureau and the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai).
Since its inception in 2018, it has been held annually in Shanghai, building a platform for international procurement, investment promotion, cultural exchange, and open cooperation through three main sections: the National Exhibition, the Enterprise Business Exhibition, and the Hongqiao International Economic Forum.
As of 2024, the 7th CIIE covered an exhibition area of over 420,000 square meters, attracting participation from 152 countries and international organizations. Among them, 77 countries and international organizations participated in the National Exhibition, including six guest countries of honor such as France and Saudi Arabia, and seven countries including Benin and Norway, as well as UNICEF, making their debut. The Enterprise Exhibition covered 3,496 companies from 129 countries and regions, including 297 Fortune Global 500 companies and industry leaders, with a significant proportion of companies from Belt and Road Initiative countries and RCEP member countries.
The first six CIIEs accumulated over US$420 billion in intended transaction volume and showcased over 2,500 new products. The 8th China International Import Expo (CIIE) will be held in Shanghai from November 5 to 10, 2025, continuing to expand its influence on global economic and trade cooperation.
